Our trained and experienced teams ensure your children’s well-being and safety at every stage of the journey. Every day, pupils are picked up near their home by a trusted driver. In some cases, we can provide extra supervision until a parent or carer arrives. All our vehicles are regularly and thoroughly serviced, fitted with seatbelts suitable for passengers of all ages, and equipped with everything necessary to ensure safe and comfortable journeys. Pupils are regularly reminded of the rules to follow and the behaviour expected on the bus so that everyone can enjoy a peaceful ride. Punctuality is also a priority for all journeys.
Bus Service at IIL
A service designed for your child, and for you
More than 1,500 pupils are currently enrolled at the Institut International de Lancy. To meet the needs of families effectively and ensure pupils can travel to school in the best possible conditions, we offer families a unique school transport service. Every day, our vehicles provide a personalised door-to-door service in Geneva, across the canton of Vaud, and even in neighbouring France. Many children use the IIL school transport service daily, which comprises around twenty routes covering more than 130 locations.
Our fleet of buses not only provides transport to and from school, but is also used throughout the year for school trips, educational activities and various events organised by the school.
Safety
Well-being
Our routes are optimised to reduce travel time, and children are picked up in a safe and secure environment, at designated stops. In the morning, bus schedules are determined according to each child’s pick-up point and calculated to ensure arrival at school between 7.45 am and 8.05 am. The afternoon buses leave the school at 4.35 pm (except on Wednesdays, when they leave at 12.45 pm).
As a KiVa school, we pay particular attention to the well-being of our students at all times -– before boarding, throughout the journey and when getting off the bus as well. Every driver, whether an IIL staff member or an external partner, is trained and ensures the safety of our students, whilst always keeping their focus on road safety. Thanks to small-capacity vehicles (fewer than 30 seats), our drivers provide personalised care and build close relationships with families.
Flexibility
Our bespoke service is also adapted to parents’ needs. You can choose from a wide range of options: mornings and afternoons, mornings only, afternoons only, or occasional use. And if your situation changes in the course of the year, we’ll do our utmost to adjust our service accordingly. We also offer an option to accommodate children living at two different addresses and, wherever possible, we strive to develop bespoke solutions for each individual situation. If your child practises an after-school activity, we can also arrange transport for them at the end of the day.
